MicroJarvis version 1.1.1 is the initial Public Release of the Product.

It is free  for Personal Use.

MicroJarvis enables you to control your Computer 

Via only a webcam and Hand Gestures.

USER MANUAL

Basic

Notification Box:  Top middle bar: Shows current status i.e. whether hand is detected or not, a hand value and appropriate actions taking place depending on the hand gesture.

Webcam output:  Top right window. Shows webcam output and hand detected by putting a white rectangle around it

Setting: settings can be launched by right clicking MicroJarvis taskbar icon

Setting are:

Mouse sensitivity: by changing mouse sensitivity speed of movement of mouse pointer can be varied 

Web scroll sensitivity: by changing mouse sensitivity amount of scroll in web page can be changed

Volume Control: volume control for multimedia by hand gestures is enabled by clicking volume control

Calibration:

àTo run calibration go to Taskbar icon and right click and select calibrate

àYou will have two windows one showing binary image (CalibarteData) feed and other showing six slide bars

àMake all h_min, s_min, v_min slide bars zero (minimum) and h_max, s_max, v_max slide bars 255 (minimum). You will see a white image.

àNow start reducing h_max slide bar until you see only hand and face being white (some noise is allowed)

àNow start increasing s_min till background noise reduces to zero

àStart increasing v_min until further noise is removed

àPress “c” to finish configuration

                                        Mouse Control

When predefined web, music, video players are not running only then normal mouse movements are enabled.

 Control:

è Mouse pointer is controlled by hand position and as hand moves mouse pointer also moves accordingly.

è Four finger gesture is used to control mouse Left Click

è two finger gesture is used to control mouse Right Click

            

Mouse Right Click

                                                                                   Mouse Left Click

è If left click and right click are not working then run Calibration once

è If hand is not detected at all then please move to a place with more uniform background

                                   

        

Gallery Control

 Default gallery application are

1. dllhost.exe (default windows 8 photo viewer)   

2. PicasaPhotoViewer.exe (Picasa3 photo viewer)

You can add extra photo viewers by mentioning application executable in gallery.txt in MicroJarvis

Folder in program files (x86). You can also remove default applications by deleting them in the same file

Control:

è By moving hand downwards next images are displayed

è By moving hand upwards previous images are displayed. 

 

àIf hand is not detected at all then please move to a place with more uniform background

                                 Music Control

Default gallery application are

1. iTunes.exe (default windows 8 photo viewer)   

2. winamp.exe (Picasa3 photo viewer)

You can add extra photo viewers by mentioning application executable in mediaplayers.txt in MicroJarvis Folder in program files (x86). You can also remove default applications by deleting them in the same file

Control:

è By moving hand upwards volume is increased

è By moving hand downwards volume is reduced

è Play/Pause is controlled by four finger gesture 

è Next songs are played by moving hand from left to right

è Previous songs are played by moving hand from right to left

 

è If play/pause is not working then run Calibration once

è If hand is not detected at all then please move to a place with more uniform background

                                                                    Web Control

Default web application are

1. chrome.exe (Google chrome)   

2. firefox.exe (Mozilla Firefox)

3.iexplore.exe (Internet Explorer)

You can add browsers by mentioning application executable in webbrowsers.txt in MicroJarvis

Folder in program files (x86). You can also remove default applications by deleting them in the same file

Control:

è Web page is scrolled down by moving hand downwards

è Web page is scrolled up by moving hand upwards

è Three/ four finger gesture is used to control Left Click 

 

è If left Click is not working then run Calibration once

è If hand is not detected at all then please move to a place with more uniform background
